JP Singh has led and grown businesses in the JV/MNC /Indian MNC environment at Fisher Rosemount (now Emerson Process Management), Yokogawa Blue Star and Larsen & Toubro for over 30 years.
A Chemical Engineer from DCET, Chandigarh, he worked in the early part of his career, at the Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC), Mumbai.
JP joined a 1980s ‘start up’ Rosemount India- a JV of Emerson Electric Company- that had a market-leading suite of process instrumentation products. He headed Sales & Operations at Rosemount India for over 17 years, driving Sales growth & Operational excellence as GM and thereafter, VP&GM. Post this he led the India JV of Yokogawa Japan for 5 years and the Electrical & Automation Projects Business of Larsen & Toubro Limited from 2003-2012.
In all these world class companies, JP’s focus was on building a robust revenue engine, getting the organization client-focused and growing profitable sales- in products, systems, and services. The challenge of achieving this consistently, over time, and over varying economic cycles, was something that energized and drove him over the years.
He established Effectus Consulting LLP in 2013 and runs a sales consulting business focused on senior B2B sellers. From 2014-21 as an Independent with Miller Heiman (now a part of Korn Ferry) and currently with his own programs. He Consults in and runs learning interventions around B2B Sales, Executive Selling & Executive Conversations, Business & Financial Acumen for Senior Sellers.
 JP’s current Consulting passion is in Culture and Accountability as an Independent Consultant with Culture Partners( www.culture.io). Corporates spend lots of time and resources on Strategy. If Strategy defines the “what to do” Culture is the “how you do it”. Strategic plans call out audacious plans and big financial numbers and while strategy is important, what drives strategy is the way people think and act (work culture). If we think and act how we do today and expect to get 2X/3X results, 3 years out without addressing work culture or mind sets, it's a tall order. Small wonder why Peter Drucker famously said, “Culture eats strategy for breakfast."
